Genomic Analysis
Each person inherits their genetic information from their mother and father. A genomic test will scan all your genes, looking for scientifically determined variations that can lead to health risks, disease susceptibility and potential drug responses. Our genes influence physical traits, lipid metabolism, hormone regulation, inflammation, Alzheimer’s disease, many forms of cancer and risks for metabolic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity. It is important to have a physician go through your genomic testing to interpret the hierarchy of concerns and develop a personalized treatment plan that will lower your risks going forward. Genomics is precise data and is one and done test.
Microbiome Testing
Our intestines are colonized with millions of bacteria that have evolved to break down our food into nutrients and is referred to as the gut microbiome. The gut is in direct communication with the brain through a cranial nerve, called the Vagas Nerve, that extends from the brainstem to the gut and this is referred to as the gut-brain axis. A physician may evaluate the gut microbiome for information about inflammation, metabolic disorders, or poor gut health. This will enable the doctor to tailor a personalized plan for better nutrition, wellness and disease prevention.
Mitochondrial Analysis
All human cells have mitochondrial, accept mature red blood cells and they only survive for 120 days. In fact, there are anywhere from 200 to 2000 mitochondria found in each cell. Mitochondria have their own unique DNA that is inherited from our mothers. The mitochondria convert proteins, fats or carbohydrates into ATP, which acts as the currency of each cell to propel the organism with energy. A doctor may order a mitochondrial assessment for clinical symptoms of fatigue, exercise intolerance, muscle weakness, cardiomyopathy, hearing or vision loss, cancer or neurological symptoms such as neuropathies; in order to create a personalized treatment plan to boost energy levels and increase resilience.
